The Haunted House
by
Becky, a pupli at Moorpark Primary School,
Stoke on Trent. Uk

One day, Tommy and Sally walked down the road. They walked past a big house.
“Can you hear that?” Sally whispered
“Can I hear what, the banging sound in that house? Now I can, that is freaky.”
Tommy and Sally crept up to the old creepy house.
“Can we just go home?” said Sally.
“No. I want to find out what is in there,” insisted Tommy.
While they were deciding what to do, the door swung open and made a massive creaking noise.
“Shall we explore inside?” said Tommy, sounding excited.
“Go on then,” mumbled Sally.

Tommy pushed Sally into the house. Surprisingly, he thought it was funny.
“That was not funny. I could have got hurt.” Sally’s voice echoed in the big building, so Tommy tried it.
“That is cool, can I do it again?”
“No, you might wake something up,” said Sally.
“Like what?” exclaimed Tommy. “Like a ghost or something.”
The door slammed shut.
“That scared me,” said Sally.
Giant black figures stood at all the exit doors.
“Sally, why are they standing at the doors?”
“I don’t know,” said Sally.
“Well it is scary anyway,” said Tommy.
“Go and touch them,” Sally sniggered.
“NO,” said Tommy. “We’ll both touch them,” said Tom.
“Good idea,” said Sally.
They both walked over to the black figures. The floorboards creaked as they stepped on them. They touched the figures.
“I think I’m going to be sick,” said Sally.
“You won’t Sally,” said Tommy
“I feel a bit better now,” said Sally.
“Good,” Tommy said.
They slowly headed for the black figures. After a long wait for Sally, Tommy touched one then Sally touched one.
Tommy said, “The one I touched is cold and soggy.”
Sally said, “The one I touched is all bumpy and slimy.
“Euw,” they both said at the same time. Then they laughed. They both stood and thought about how they would get rid of all these black figures.
“I’ve got an idea,” Sally exclaimed.
“What,” Tommy shouted out loud.
“I’ve forgot,” Sally sighed.
“Oh,” Tommy said.
They both stood again as they could not think of any ways to get rid of these figures. Tommy stared at the figures. One of the figures slowly turned its head and two red eyes seemed to bore into Tommy. Tommy made an alarmed sound.
“What,” said Sally.
“There’s a big bright button on the side of the figure.”
“Why are you standing here then?” Sally said excitingly.
“Come on we’ll push it and see what happens,” Tommy said.
“Fine,” Sally said.
Tommy and Sally pushed the button on the side of the figure.
“Well,” Tommy said. “Wait for it.”
All at once every figure that was in the house fell to the floor and smashed to pieces. They swung the door open then slammed it shut. Tommy and Sally ran home and never went past that house again.

The end.
